DAY 1 Welcome to Isabela, the largest and one of the Galapagos’ most spectacular islands. You are sure to enjoy all of your time in this wild paradise. Today you will be arriving to the Island. You can choose between taking a flight from Baltra or a ferry to the port, both of which we can arrange for you. If coming by boat, you can try to look for dolphins and whales (July to October). Once on the Island we will have the transfer arranged for you with a taxi cab to our reception.
After checking into your rooms, we will meet in the reception to be picked up for the visit to Las Tintoreras. Tintoreras Islet is a short journey from Puerto Villamil. Its turquoise, crystalline waters are inhabited by a variety of marine life such as the white-tipped reef sharks, Galapagos penguins, marine turtles and sea lions. Here is one of the main nesting sites for marine iguanas. Snorkeling, walking and even kayaking can be done in this attraction.
Afterwards you are free to relax at the hotel in one of the many lounge areas, walk the beach or even explore the town on your own. We will be providing a special dinner this night at the hotel cooked by our professional chef.
DAY 2 After a night of well earned rest, we will serve our breakfast buffet of fresh juices, coffee and tea with freshly cooked dishes and a cereal bar. There will be plenty of diversity to suite your tastes. Fuel up for the hiking tour of Volcano Sierra Negra, the largest volcano of the six volcanoes that form Isabela, one of the most volcanically active places on the planet. We will leave in the morning as this tour last around 6 hours.
Once your return from your hike, you are free to do as you please. Tonight we will provide another excellent dinner at the hotel.
DAY 3 We will serve our delicious breakfast buffet again to get your ready for your third day of excitement on the island paradise. Be sure to pacify your appetite for this walking and snorkeling tour of “Los Tuneles,” meaning the lava tunnels. These are older lava formations that have eroded into tunnels that make up the beach of this part of the island. Here you will do a walk to see various endemic wildlife unique to the Galapagos; you are also sure to see the famous blue-footed boobies nesting in this area. After the walk will be a snorkeling session to easily encounter many beautiful sea creatures such as sharks, sea turtles, seahorses and rays.
Once your return from your trip, you are free to do as you please. Tonight we will provide another excellent dinner at the hotel.
DAY 4 Once again, start your day off with our excellent breakfast for you last day of adventure on Isabela. In the morning you will be visiting the “Cuevas de Sucre and the “Mirador del Mango”. The Cuevas de Sucre were formed by hollowed out lava formations after the crust cooled and the molten inside continued to flow out of it. This lava tunnel is a spectacular cave of glistening minerals and crystalline structures left over from the molten lava. Mirador del Mango is a pretty view point to hike and see the 4 hermanos, sierra negra and the surrounding Isabela landscape. Then, return back to town to be served a prepared lunch at our restaurant. After lunch we will set out to do a snorkeling tour at Concha Perla. This area is a calm bay with great visibility that hosts a white coral reef and plenty of unique marine life such as golden rays, sea lions, sea turtles or even the illustrious Galapagos penguin.
Once your return from your swim, you are free to do as you please. Tonight we will provide another excellent dinner at the hotel.
DAY 5 You will have an early ferry or flight off the island. Depending on the time of your departure you may have breakfast at the restaurant or be given a box breakfast to take with you on your journey. Here we end our services and thank you for staying with IsaMar. We wish you the best for you stay in the Galapagos.
